Sir Ian McGeechan has returned where it all began for him in terms of club rugby after taking over the reins as executive chairman of RFU Championship Rugby Union side Leeds Carnegie.
The former international player for Scotland was born and spent his formative years in Yorkshire in Leeds and began his professional rugby career with Headingley in 1964. It was the only club that he represented during his long and distinguished career and which merged with Roundhay to form what we know today as The Carnegie.
