Diccon Edwards, the Director of Rugby of the Rugby Football Union Championship side Leeds Carnegie has admitted that he would want his side to reach the promotion playoffs by virtue of their own merit and not because of the failure of the other teams before or after them in the standings.
Leeds is fighting it out in a fight to the finish against Bristol Rugby for the fourth and final playoff position in the RFU Championship table.
