Highly sought after Harri

Highly sought after prop player Ben Harris stated that continuing his education in learning the trade at the Rugby Football Union Championship club Leeds Carnegie was his only priority which led him to snub the advances of a host of clubs from the Aviva Premiership in order to commit the foreseeable future to the Yorkshire based club.

The youngster recently penned a new two year deal with Leeds despite being on the radar of several top flight clubs in the country and even some from abroad keeping tabs on development. And according to the 24 year old, the influence of the club’s forwards coach Tommy McGee was instrumental in his decision making.

According to Harris, as soon as the club made the offer of an extension, he jumped at the opportunity. Born in Huddersfield, the loose head prop joined Leeds Carnegie from their Yorkshire neighbors the Rotherham Titans a good eighteen months back.

He mentioned that he is enjoying his time here, he is improving immensely and he wants to keep on improving. He went on to hail the influence of McGee as well stating that he has been a huge figure for him and he has immensely improved under him.

Harris, who made a dramatic improvement since joining Leeds has become something of a national sensation since he made the move to the club and he harbors the dream of playing in the Aviva Premiership one day, but he added that the time wasn’t right for him to make the move right at this moment.
He stated that he was informed about some interest from other clubs in his services but he didn’t think the time was right to make such a big and challenging move and he felt Leeds Carnegie will ready him for any such move in the future.
