New Zealand Bags 2016 Rugby Championships

There are still two rounds of Rugby Championship matches to be played. But, that is immaterial now as New Zealand has won the Rugby Championships on their home soil after taming South Africans 41-13.

The Rugby Championship was confirmed in New Zealand after Argentina was not able to stop the formidable Australian rugby team from winning with a 36-20 in another championship match. The All Blacks have reclaimed the Rugby Championship title from the Australians.

The match against South Africa was played at the AMI Stadium in Christchurch. Dane Coles gave everyone a Masterclass on how to play in the backline and he was responsible for setting up three of the New Zealand tries.

The World Champions showed why they are rated as the number one team in the world and Springboks did not have any answers to the questions raised by the All Black players. It’s no wonder tickets to the New Zealand games against England sold out in record time (though there are still a few seats available on this website).

The Coles passes were well received and completed with tries by Sam Whitelock, Israel Dagg and Julian Savea. The finishing touches were given by Ardie Savea, Ben Smith and TJ Perenara as they crossed to earn New Zealand bonus point victory.

By virtue of this test win against the South Africans, New Zealand stays pretty in the lead with 20 points and thereby also clinch the Rugby Championship title for 2016 with two more matches to go. There was nothing to cheer about for the Springboks apart from their winger Bryan Habana completing his 66th test try. He is just three tries short of Japan’s Daisuke Ohata for the maximum number of tries title.

New Zealand did not put up a good showing in the first half and ended the first half with a score line of just 15-10. The second half saw a complete change and the Black Caps were all over the Springbok players and thereby won convincingly.

Rhinos Celebrate Harry Jepson

Harry Jepson is the late president of Leeds Rhinos. They are planning to celebrate the life of the legend. And this event is meant to be a great reunion for the entire rugby league.

Where is this event going to be held? They are going to hold this event in Headingley Carnegie. The members of the general public will be allowed to attend this event. There will be invited guests as well at the event. It will be held on next Tuesday.

Tony Currie, the former Test Player of the club from 1980s is going to be one of the major guests. He will be coming all the way from Australia to be a part of the event. The whole current squad will be there at the event. And so many old players will be present at the event to celebrate the legend Harry Jepson. Jepson died last month when he was 96.

Of course, Jepson was such a great man. He was such an important and influential person when it comes to the overall fate of the club. The chief executive of the club remembered that, even at 96, he was there to visit all the officials before the match. Jepson knew all the current officials and have been in touch with everybody.

And he was still involved with the club. He worked as a teacher at the club. His fans love him for the contributions he has made to the club. Everyone who is fond of this great legend can be a part of the event, said the chief executive. It is going to be a great reunion for the rugby sport as well. The speakers intend to speak about his life as a teacher. And they plan to read his favorite poem as well. The event is going to be a very special event for the fans of the game as well as the fans of the club.

Rhinos Win In The Qualifiers

The Qualifier matches that were held recently see Leeds Rhinos having scored 37 to 12 against the Leigh Centurions. Sam Hopkins was successful in scoring against the Leeds on behalf of Leigh among the first two tries that were put up.

The Qualifiers has seen Leeds Rhinos emerging on top and they have denied the Leigh Centurions from getting a perfect record. Being part of the promotion of Super League this was an important match for the two teams.

The Leeds Rhinos have played well and this year’s campaign has been won well by them. They have emerged treble winners last season and this time too they have obtained four scores before the season break.

Brett Ferres and James Segeyaro have been able to score ties in this game while Jimmy went twice over in four minutes. There were three more that came in the second half and Leigh was able to secure consolations with the performances of players like Matty Dawson and Sam Hopkins. The status of the 2017 Super League for both teams was known before the kick off came from.

The top spot remains for grabs at the Qualifiers. Leigh has been winners in the Championship and they will return at the top tier after 2005. There will be a 20 match run where Leigh will compete. However Leeds was able to end their hopes as they started off with a lead of 18-0.

The stranglehold by the Rhinos continued in the second half and Joel Moon helped to finish off with a counter attack. Ashton Golding as well as Segeyaro was able to finish the job well. The coach of Leeds Rhinos stated that this year at rugby league had been one of the toughest but he was glad that the team has performed well this year.

Leeds Rhinos Get A TV Show

Leeds Rhinos fans will be delighted to know that the group will get their TV show soon. The team will have their show aired this weekend.

The broadcast of Leeds Rhino TV will come by on Freeview Channel 7, Virgin Media 159 and Sky 117. The series will start off new but if it gains success, it will be shown through autumn and then into winter. It would also be expanded to include other Super League clubs in the coming year.

Rugby AM and its representative Alex Simmons talked about how they would be focusing on the team personalities in this series. The players would be coming on with their talents and skills, and that is what would be showcased at the show. This would help to promote the team to a wider audience.

Though the Rhinos would be showcased first the team might get other clubs in as well as per the interest that the show generates. This was being talked about when the Leeds were about to fight against the Leigh team. The game was crucial so that they can avoid finishing in the second position. Treble winners last year have not been in danger of having to end up in the Million Pound relegation rounds. They would finish in the runners up position if they ended up playing poorly.

Leeds came into the game with several key players injured, but they were able to make the game a winning one for themselves. It remains to be seen how the show comes out and how well it projects the players and their characters. It would definitely highlight the hard work they have put in, especially last year when things had been uncertain for them. This would also showcase the game of rugby and the involvement of the players in the game to non rugby viewers as well.
